Re: Vista Rlink problems

There will be soon a new release, but the installer is not very different and you can download the current image of the CD from this web site.

Re: Vista Rlink problems

Hi,

We just realized that the PCs we tested are not 64-bit OSes as we thought, just 64-bit cores with 32-bit Windos.

We are working on making a USB driver that will work in 64-bits Windows. (From now on I will be using Vista x64 myself, lucky me! sad )

This development might take some time, (less than one month, we hope) and unfortunately there is no workaround to use in the meantime. (only using another PC... ;/ )

We thank you in advance for your patience.

Best Regards,

Vincent

Re: Vista Rlink problems

I wish the drivers were open source. That would let a lot of people work on the various problems. My experience with open source is that once I discover I have a problem I can hit google and find dozens of fixes that other people have already worked out.

Re: Vista Rlink problems

I'm also having problems with the drive under Vista.

I noticed that the new driver is titled .....WinDriverV7V  but the files in the zip file are still using windrvr6.*
Should they be windrvr7.*  ?????

Re: Vista Rlink problems

No. All versions of the WinDriver use a file called "Windrvr6.sys". (and so will the future versions, I think)

iguffick, have you tried the procedure explained there?
http://www.raisonance.com/Forum/punbb/v … hp?id=2173
(I guess not, because it ends in sending us something, and I don't recall receiving anything from you...)
Most people using 32-bits Vista managed to use RLink thanks to this.

Re: Vista Rlink problems

I ran through the procedure again and it now works.
I think the problems start if the USB is plugged in before the drivers have been installed.
Obviously a stupid thing to do, but when you've just unpacked your new toy - you just want to plug it in ;-)

Re: Vista Rlink problems

Fix for RLink on Vista due to "User Account Control is on"

Symptom: Ride7 unable to load the USB driver.
Cause: Vista User Account Control was turned on during installation (and I was administrator).
Solution:
(1) Remove failing installation from Start=>Raisonance Tools=>Ride7=>Uninstall Ride7
(2) Go to Control Panel=>User Accounts=>"Turn User Account Control on or off"=>uncheck "Use User Account Ctrl"
(3) Reboot Vista
(4) Insert STM32 Primer CDROM and select view files in directories
(5) Right click demo (demo MFC Application, not the demo icon)
(6) Select "Run as adminstrator"
(7) Install both Ride7 and RLink
(8) Reboot
(9) Now the driver loads successfully in Ride7 (at least on my Vista laptop)
Good luck!

Re: Vista Rlink problems

Hi,

The latest version of RIDE7 includes and supports the new USB driver (RLinkWinUSB) that works with Vista, Vista64 and all the future versions of Windows. (that's what Microsoft says, but I only checked Vista and Vista64 wink )
You can download it there:
http://www.raisonance.com/download/index.php
You must download and install both the RIDE7 kit and the ARM kit. (and also STM8/ST7 if you plan to use these targets)

I will not post the new driver alone for now, as the older versions of RIDE cannot work with it. The new (& future) version of RIDE still works with the old driver, and it detects automatically which one is installed.

Note that this only changes the behavior under Vista and Vista64. For XP and older versions of Windows, the old driver is still used.

Best Regards,

Vincent

Re: Vista Rlink problems

I have windows 7 - 64 bit, wonderful and stable system, but...
I installed demo CD BN28 from circle project downloads and error installing DPinst Rlink driver was displayed. I downloaded BN55 exe files you mentioned, error was not displayed, but I am not sure the driver is present now. Is it possible to have standalone Rlink driver for windows 7 - 64 bit please ? thanks a lot, best regards

Re: Vista Rlink problems

Hi,

Here is a test version of the RLink driver package that should manage to install the driver in Windows7:
ftp://www.raisonance.com/pub/RLink_USB_ … orWin7.exe

Any constructive feedback is welcome.

The Driver is the same, (Vista USB drivers are compatible with Win7) only the installer changed. That means if the package above fails, you'll just have to install the driver manually:

Best Regards,

Vincent
