STM CircleOS forum / Computer reboots when programming Primer2

Hi.

I just got my Primer 2 a couple days ago. I downloaded the latest software and installed it.
After playing around with the preinstalled applications, I wanted to start program it.

When i connect the primer2 to the computer and try to program it, the computer crashes to a bluescreen and reboots.

I'm running winXP sp3.

I have done a quick search of the forum, and could not find any other posts related to this issue.

Any one know what might be the problem or how to solve it?

Hi,

Your problem sounds very similar to one that a few other customers experienced because of a bug in an AVR software. Please read the following forum threads carefuly:

... and check if you might be in the same situation.

If it does not help, we will need more information:
First tell me the version of the windrvr6.sys file, and then answer this form:

Hi.

Problem solved. Your first link gave me the solution.

I had version 10.10 of the windrvr6.sys. so replacing it with an older version 7.0.0 and restarting the computer, i can now communicate with the device without the computer crashing.

Hi,

We inquired this issue and found a way to workaround the problem while keeping the newer version of the driver installed by AVR or others.
You can give a try at this patch:

It is still under test, so please report the results of your tests in this thread, positive or negative.
